Meet Our Training Team

These brief video and audio clips from our trainers will introduce you to their passion for NVC and the breadth of experience and skill they bring to their work. After reviewing these clips, we're pretty excited about the possibilities for the depth of learning and healing that could happen at this year's IRT. We hope you will share our excitement and join us this year!

Press play to listen to this 5 minute excerpt of Jorge discussing the role of conflict and violence as “eco-systemic” signs for us to give our attention to some area that is contributing to suffering. He states, "I don't think we are actually scared of pain, I think we're terrified of suffering,” as an explanation of what keeps us stuck in conflict.jorge

"Engrossed and titillated was I amid the dancing words and fluid movements of Jorge’s addresses. The learning I sought in coming to this training resided mostly in these sessions." - S.U., participant, 2007 NVC & Diversity retreat.

Jorge's warmth, humor and exceptional clarity has been so well-received by our participants that we were delighted to invite him to return to the New York Intensive for a second time. Jane Connor, the founder of the New York Intensive, writes, Jorge's "way of explaining and living the concepts he was sharing frequently left me speechless for the clarity and inspirational way in which he spoke." As a resident of Colombia who has been working throughout South America and the world, Jorge brings a committment to social change, combined with a depth of passion for his work, that we invite you to come experience during this year's intensive.

"I have participated in NVC workshops in USA, Australia, Sri Lanka, The Netherlands, etc. The NVC & Diversity retreat & the NY Intensive were the best NVC trainings in my life. I learnt so much from the trainings through a lot of practical incidents. It supported me in applying NVC in the violent situations in Sri Lanka. I met my favourite NVC trainer during that training who is Jorge. I really like the way he explains the practical application of NVC & the way he takes the challenges when we raise questions." - Chandana D., Sri Lanka

Press play and listen to a 10 minute excerpt of Roxy discussing why awareness of issues of diversity is of importance to the NVC community and what NVC adds to the study of diversity. In this audioclip, Roxy clarifies the three areas where aspects of our identity can impact our lives: on the personal level, the interpersonal level and the community level. "Roxy's distinctive style of NVC teaching and coaching never fails to amaze. She is a gentle laser, penetrating to the heart of feelings and needs with utmost compassion. A master healer, she moves with a skillful hand that cuts away all that is extraneous, cares for and binds the wound - yet leaves no scar." - Catherine C.

"I feel so grateful for Roxy's presence and support both in the background and foreground of the Leadership Program. When Roxy is leading, I relax completely and enjoy myself. I have complete confidence and trust in her understanding of NVC and the clarity with which she shares that understanding. I experience great pleasure at her particular way of weaving ideas. And I cherish especially her courageous commitment to honesty and growth." - Inbal Kashtan, CNVC certified trainer

Roxy has a commitment for bringing NVC to people and groups where it is not already embraced. This passion has led to her co-development of the NVC and Diversity retreats and teleclasses, and her work helping therapists integrate NVC into their work with clients. We are excited about the dual nature of her work - helping people both integrate NVC into their own lives, and helping them to learn how to share it with others. One therapist wrote:

"If you wish to deepen your awareness of how NVC works in a therapeutic setting, and want exploration, curiousity, and more complex insights, have Roxy facilitate a session. The richness of her coaching far surpasses any expectations one might have." - Matt A.

Roxy's effectiveness in teaching participants is grounded in her willingness to fully live the consciousness while she is teaching, so participants see experience the possibility of what transparent, fully human, power-with leadership can look like.

"Co-leading with her since 2008, Roxy Manning has many times impressed me with what I see as a rare combination of nvc skills and consciousness integration, clear and flowing languaging, ability to play with concepts, gentleness, spontaneity, dedication, fast intelligence, trouble-shooting creativity and being a fun to be around person. Quite a combo. Check it out." - François Beausoleil, CNVC certified trainer

Dearest Arnina,
My name is E.G. and I was in a workshop you held about anger, guilt, fear and shame in June 09, in Oakland. I have been going over what to say in this email to you for quite some time. Each time I reflect on that day I find new meaning and understanding based on what was shared. New places of frustration or new areas to find relief in. Many things especially the beauty of discovery and how ever continuos it is. It has been many months since I began to write this email and each time I save it and deliberate on what to say. The other day I realized what I really wish to say is thank you. Thank you for the richness in conversation that you offered. Thank you for all the inspiration. As a young female I admire what you are doing and am thankful that you travel to America and make accessible the gifts of knowing you.

In admiration,
- E.G. (November 17, 2009)
